Christmas is the biggest time of the year. There is an abundance of history behind it and an abundance of crafts for everything from decking out your tree to creative ways to wrap your gifts. This is one of my personal favorite holidays and can’t wait to share all the fun and crafty ways to make your Christmas more magical.
The biggest part of Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus. Its the main reason for the season. Although the actual birth information isn’t known it was placed on the 25th of December and has been celebrated on this day by many people around the world. There are many activities and Crafts that you can make to honor this day.
A jolly man with a belly like a bowl full of jelly, rosy red cheeks and brings you gifts? he is one of the Christmas traditions that many ( but not all) Choose to embrace. His legend goes all the back to a monk that was admired for his kindness and his reverence and later became known as the protector of children. Whether you call him St Nick, Santa Clause or St Nicholas we have many crafts and activities for this Jolly Ol’ Saint Nick.
We all know that Santa needs plenty of help in the factory making toys. These little helpers are The elves history goes back to as early as 1950 and have been helping Santa Ever since. The latest trend is of course the Elf on the Shelf. There are so many cute and fun ways to add Santa’s little helpers to your Christmas fun.
“Do you recall the most famous Reindeer of all?” Reindeer are the wonderful and magical guys that help Santa get all his gifts around the world in one night. These guys were first named in the Book: The night before Christmas. Then Rudolf added later on with the song: Rudolf the red nosed reindeer. We know them in the real world as Caribou an type of deer. Of course there are plenty of fun crafts and activities that showcase the reindeer.
Snowmen have also become a staple in Christmas. Although not too much is known about the history of the snowman, they are a part of the Christmas holiday and are very fun to make.
The Tree, This is a tradition with many facets to it. Pieces of it coming from various traditions. Originally Candles were the lights in the tree, early ornaments were apples,nuts and marzipan cookies. Garland was made out of colored popcorn and berries. With modern times the tree was now in homes and of course many of the traditions that we know and love today. There are plenty of fun and inspiring ideas for decking the tree and staying close to traditions.
